Heath Andrew Ledger (4 April 1979 – 22 January 2008) was an Australian actor. Several months before his death, he had finished filming his role as the Joker in The Dark Knight (2008); the film became his first posthumous release, while his performance earned widespread media attention, universal acclaim, and the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. His final film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, was released posthumously in 2009.

Her advocacy includes ambassadorships in the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS and Pantene's Beautiful Lengths. Separated from actor Liev Schreiber, with whom she shares two children, Watts married actor Billy Crudup in 2023.
